Mark your calendars, Parent Teacher Interviews for Semester 2 will be held on Thursday, March 2. Information will be sent home for on-line booking of appointments with teachers. Interviews begin at 5:00-7:30pm. We hope to see you all here.

OSSLT LITERACY TEST PREPARATION

The Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test will be written on March 27, 2019.  Just a reminder that the successful completion of this Ministry mandated test is a graduation requirement. All Gr. 10 students will receive literacy test prep in their classes and in the library during class time to prepare to write the test. Sample tests can be found on the EQAO website under student resources: www.eqao.com for you to work with your child at home.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

40 Community Service hours are a graduation requirement. All students should attempt to keep on top of this important task. Please submit forms to the Guidance office as hours are completed. There are always volunteer opportunities announced over the PA as well as posted outside our Guidance.  Students who do not fulfill this requirement of 40 hours will unfortunately not participate in our school graduation. In addition, Gr. 12's must have their community service hours completed and all forms submitted by April 1, 2019 to have their grad photo included in the Yearbook, on the Grad composite, in the Grad program, and to be considered for grad awards/bursaries.

STUDENT SUCCESS
The Student Achievement Centre at Vanier continues to be a busy place.  Rooms 144 provides a welcoming space for students to complete work, get extra help, finish projects, ask questions, and write tests.  The rooms are open four periods a day, all students are welcome.
