Welcome to the 2017/2018 school year! We hope that you have had a relaxing and enjoyable summer with friends and loved ones and are ready for a successful school year. For those returning, we warmly welcome you back. For our new families, we would like to welcome you to our school community. We are happy that you have chosen a Catholic education for your child and we hope that you always feel at home at Jean Vanier Catholic High School.
As we are preparing for the beginning of the 2017-2018 school year there are a few important dates and details that we would like to make you aware of:
Main Office Hours: As of today the main office will be open from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. A reminder that Friday, September 1st is a Board Holiday.
Guidance Appointments: The guidance office will re-open on August 28th should a student need to make a guidance appointment regarding course selection. It is preferred that students call ahead and schedule an appointment.
First Day of School and Finalized Timetables: Our first day of school is Tuesday, September 5th. Period 1 homerooms will be posted in the main foyer. Students will receive their timetables in their period 1 homeroom.
DGN Kilters Summer Sale: A reminder that DGN Kilters will be in the school today August 23rd (10:00 AM to 8:00 PM) and tomorrow August 24th (10:00 AM to 5:00 PM) for their annual Summer Sale. For the 2017/2018 school year, which begins September 5th, hours of operation are Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. To contact the uniform store, please call 705-445-2043 ext 120. Grade 9 Orientation: We will be welcoming our Grade 9 students at our Grade 9 Orientation Day on Wednesday, August 30, 2017. The day takes place from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM. This day will allow students to tour the school, get their schedule and locker, find their classes, meet other grade 9 students, teachers and members of our Link Crew. Students will also enjoy a pizza lunch. Members of our Link Crew will be contacting all Grade 9s next Monday, August 28th and Tuesday Tuesday, August 29th. We are looking forward to a fun day!
Best Buddies Gently Used Uniform Sale: Will take place on Thursday, August 31st from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM and 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM in room 104. Each uniform item is $5.00.
