Home & School Association

The mandate of the Home & School Association is to fund requests which directly benefit the students of Jean Vanier Catholic High School.

History:   The Jean Vanier Catholic Home & School Association was once a small fundraising committee.  After much discussion amongst the members of the Home & School Association, the cafeteria was incorporated.  The corporation runs the school cafeteria as a small business.  The profits from this business are used to fund projects that fit the Home & School Association mandate.

Members:   The Home & School Association is lead by a Board of Directors, which includes a President, Treasurer, Secretary and voting members.

Operations:   Although we run the business within the premises of Jean Vanier Catholic High School, we operate alone.  We employ 3 staff within the cafeteria.  We purchase and sell product, as well as purchase and maintain equipment.  If and when there are profits, we use those profits to fulfill the mandate of the Home & School Association.

Meetings:   The Home & School Association meetings are held monthly.  We previously made the decision to have our meetings open to the public.  This includes teachers, administration and parents.  We welcome input from the Jean Vanier Principal, who attends regularly.

Requests Funded:   In the past, the Home & School Association has funded requests such as Graduation Scholarship Funds, Computers, Media Projectors, Smart Boards, Library Videos and Books, Uniforms for sports, lighting, equipment and instruments for the Arts Department.

New Members:  We encourage new members to join.  Contact the school for more information.
